“However long the night, the dawn will break”
There is no getting around it:
CoVid-19 has literally changed our world almost overnight.
And the travel industry has been struck right in the heart.
I feel deeply for my clients who have had long-awaited special trips for honeymoons, milestone birthdays and family holidays get cancelled. I also feel for my suppliers worldwide, who have been moving heaven and earth to rearrange plans.
These are the authoritative resources I am recommending to clients to keep up-to-date with the latest information regarding CoVid-19:
But even in the midst of a pandemic, I still believe that travel makes life richer, no matter where you are.
It’s true, I don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. Like you, I’m worried about my family, friends and colleagues. And I’m washing my hands like crazy.
But amid the uncertainty, there is always one constant: THIS TOO SHALL PASS.
I’m going to keep talking about travel because it gives me hope-and my hope is that it does the same for you. And, honestly, it’s surprising how refreshing just a ten-minute diversion of scrolling through past vacation pics feels. The virtual vacation will have to suffice for now.
While our travel is restricted at the moment, dreaming about travel is not! It’s actually a great time to really think about your travel bucket list. The joy of travel begins with the excitement of planning. It extends to the experience itself. And it lives on in the memories we make, memories that only grow more valuable over time.
We will travel again. For now, we’re heeding travel advisories and acting responsibly. When the time is right (and we can’t wait for that day), we’ll be sipping cappuccinos in Rome –or having a gin and tonic sundowner in the African bush–and venturing to the many other corners of the world that continue to inspire us.
Until then, we’re going to keep talking about travel because travel makes life richer 😉
Best wishes for health and safety,
